I assume you meant "attend an auto auction". Most auctions are wholesale only, which is why they require a dealer license. You need to look for public auto auctions.

Yeah certain auctions require you to have a dealer license. You can find places on line that will provide you with a dealer license from certain states. it costs about $2,500 -$3,000 a year to maintain these licenses.

I would get an llc to protect your personal assets.

Remember the online auction business is very tough and very competitive.

You may want to try something new rather than the same old boring ebay style auctions.

Have you heard of swoopo? They have an exciting business plan that may work for you.

They make money when you buy bid packs and they hope that the income from the bid packs is more than the difference of the price someone pays for the item and the amount the item cost them.

They seem to making a fortune and you can find a coder to build your site for $100 or less.

If you go with a traditional ebay style auction site you can have someone set that up for you with a ready made script for $50.

well ebay just changed some "rules" & if I’m not mistaken, if you list something and the starting bid is $1.00 or less, it is free now. There’s no limit that I know of per month, either, as far as I recall, too. But, then again, you do have to pay for any upgrades like extra pics and subtitles, etc.
If you want a totally free website’s auctioning, then check out right here on Yahoo.com, OR try
Amazon.com, Half.com (ebay’s place for electronics, books, and other media, which is free for SOME listings, probably much like ebay itself….unless they "did away" with it.), and I’ve wondered the same thing, so try to bing or google the question or try another site like plain ole craigslist.org. You’ll prolly find something.
