I have a question currently about auctions. I have been reading some information since I put it on here to see what other people have already said. People have said research, find out about the cars before you go to an auction, etc. That is the problem, I don’t know how to find an auction to do the research on it or on cars that I think I may be interested in. How do I do that part? Finding the auction, doing the research on the car(s) I am interested in and doing the research on ther auction it self? Thanks.

It all depends on who hosts the car auction. If it’s your local police station, dealers, etc. You will hear it via newspaper or radio. Generally stuff like that is kept on the down low for several reasons.

More people will show (generated interest)
Which in turn drives up prices, etc.

If its an auction hosted over the internet scroll through the website and see what they have. If nothing is available then simply there really isn’t anything available.

Im in the market for a new car and I have a friend looking at the Detroit Auto Auction for 2008 Toyota Camry. But with this huge recall Toyota has what will happen to the prices? Will they go down because of it or will they increase? And will I even be able to buy a Camry at the auction because Toyota stopped the sale of them from all dealers? Thanks!

As a car dealer I can tell you as of an hour ago, MMR (auction) has pulled them from the auction lists

I recently went to a car auction and before business began the auctioneer read off a load of information. One of the points he pressed most firmly was the fact that the vehicles came with no warranty or guarantee whatsoever. Is he correct? Is there really no consumer protection at car auctions, and if so why are they unique in this way?

It is simply because all cars at an auction are considered trade sales. Therefore you buy under trade rules, first one is there is no warranty. Incidentally the same applies to ebay auctions if worded properly.

What step you need to take or have to have a car auction license? In the state of Florida? Where you go to apply for one? In what you need to have?

If you are asking about attending a "Dealers Only" car auction, then you must be a licensed automobile dealer.

In Florida, motor vehicle dealers are licensed and regulated by the Division of Motor Vehicles under Section 320.27 Florida Statutes.

Florida law states that any person, firm partnership, or corporation that buys, sells, offers for sale, displays for sale or deals in three or more motor vehicles in any 12-month period is presumed to be a motor vehicle dealer and must have an appropriate license issued by the State.

License applications may be obtained from any Division of Motor Vehicles’ regional office.

Seems more and more sellers are buying cars from auctions. Should i trust this kind of car some say the had it for 2 or 4 months? It checks out on autocheck, but would you buy are car from a private seller that bought it in a auction?

The first thing you want to be sure of is the title situation on the vehicle. Make sure that the seller has the title in their name, and is not trying to sell you the car with just auction paperwork. Unless you are a licensed dealer, you have to have a vehicle titled in your name before you can legally sell it. If there is a problem(such as the car being reported stolen) and the seller was not the legal titled owner, you could loose your car and the money you paid.

If the seller bought the car, titled it and then is selling it, there is no problem. Some people will buy a car, do some repairs on it, and sell it after a few months in the hope of making a profit. Most states allow a private seller to sell a few vehicles a year without getting a dealer license, as long as the car is titled in their name, and tax is paid.

Have any used car you are considering checked out by your own qualified mechanic prior to purchase. Autochek and Carfax are not a substitute for a hands on inspection.

I want to start my own business in South Texas buying repossessed and auctioned cars; I am aware that I need a dealer’s license to get the autos cheaper. Does anybody know where should I start? I looked up online but the sites are not helping me.

http://certified-auctions.com/ will give you a list of cars that are being auctioned and where the auctions are being held at. its a really good site cant see it not helping your business at all. there is definitely money to be made and can get some great deals at the auctions

Need to buy a car but don’t have a lot of money, so where can I find auction prices for cars? If they are online, does anyone know of a good site to check out?

There are many places online that you can go to find car auction prices. Just do a search on google or yahoo and you will find them.

I have about 1000 dollars, can i get a decent car from an auction? Or should i wait to save up more

Depends on what your looking to get. 1000 wont get you much, but also keep in mind that a 1000 dollar car is going to need some work before you put it on the road and that is going to cost money too.

has any actually came out of police impound car auction and purchased a car for only 500-600 dollars? or know anyone that has? if so can u give me some input on it like how it works and what they do(from experience) only for orange county please and thank u

yes! my friend got her car at an auction for $900, but i dont remember what kind it is. i know shes had it for awhile and never had any troubles. i got my car at an auction too, bc the economy’s so bad right now, theres a lot of really nice cars that got repossessed and are going for cheap.
